Hi, I am Mrs. Bugg, the Educational Tech Leader, formerly known as TIS.  I am new to Mountaineer Middle and this position, but I am here to help with questions about technology use, Chromebook issues, and Chromebook concerns, please email me at victoria.bugg@k12.wv.us.

Monongalia County requires students and their parents/guardians to read over and sign our Acceptable Use Policy.  This should inform families and students of the expectations of technology use on their Monongalia County issued device (Chromebook) or other devices accessing the school network for their safety, learning, and protection.  More information on these forms will be sent at a later date.

I have included a Tech Help Request Form here.  The purpose of this form, which may also be found under the "Students" tab, is for students to fill it out if their Chromebooks aren't working or they are having other issues with technology like logging into important instructional sites or being able to print.  

I plan to include other helpful videos and instructions here to assist you in keeping your Chromebook running smoothly and making sure that you can access learning sites so you can get the most out of your education.  So keep checking back for more tutorials and self-help supports.

Important things to do to keep your Chromebook running smooth:

Update your Chromebook - Usually, this is done by fully shutting down the Chromebook.  You should do this at least once a week.  Here is a directions sheet on how to make sure you are running the latest operating system.

Clear your Cache - Chromebooks start running slow if you don't clear the cache.  Cache builds up from being on the internet and loading lots of sites especially games or those with lots of videos and images.  Here is a video on how to do it.

Trouble Connecting to Wi-Fi - I have linked this Livewire article explaining how to troubleshoot wi-fi issues with your Chromebook. I have had several people struggling with their Chromebooks when other devices are working.  Hopefully, this article can help.
