The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our highest priorities. To ensure we are prepared for emergencies, Mountaineer Middle School will conduct a school-wide emergency preparedness drill on Friday, October 23, 2026. The drill will last no longer than 15 minutes.
The purpose of this drill is to strengthen our ability to protect students and staff, save lives, and reduce injuries in the event of an emergency. It will also allow us to evaluate our emergency operations plan and improve our response procedures. Students and staff will participate in the activation of our school’s Safe School Plan as part of this exercise.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the school office at 304-284-2856. If you do not wish for your child to participate in the drill, please contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we work to maintain a safe learning environment for everyone.
Sincerely,
Mr. Rogers
Principal
Mountaineer Middle School

Mrs. Rousseau's brother-in-law is deployed in Jordan until July. She is collecting items to send to the troops at his base. She's hopeful to create some nice care packages for the holiday season for our troops serving overseas. If you are able to donate some of the items listed, it would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, Mrs. Rousseau's contact information is on the flyer.

We look forward to seeing everyone tonight at MMS Volleyball Spirit Night!

Our school dance will be held from 7:00–8:30 PM.
Please do not drop students off early and leave them unattended. Students should arrive no earlier than the scheduled start time of 7:00 PM.
Pick-up will begin promptly at 8:30 PM. Our first dance is usually very timely with the pick-up process, so we ask that parents arrive at 8:30 and remain patient as students are dismissed.
Thank you for helping us make the evening safe and enjoyable for everyone!
